Greetings from the Garden!
Thanks to our clients this season, we have had a wonderful Spring and Summer 2019! The cooler temperatures and increase in rain remind us each year that our outdoor projects have a deadline, and must eventually come to an end. Though planting should largely be done with by now, Fall is still a perfect time to weed, mulch, re-shape and edge beds, and more! Trees can still be planted at this point without colder temperatures harming the root systems.
With recent lawsuits coming to light regarding Round Up causing cancer, we will be immediately implementing a new policy wherein none of the Pray Plants workers will be working in areas that have been sprayed with any pesticides in the last 100 days. This is for our safety, as Pray Plants employees deserve only the safest workplace. Please remember that we offer weeding services that go even further than spraying, as fully removing the weeds means no looming roots or dead plant matter remain in your beautiful landscape or garden, and that your pets and children can wander safely through your enchanting gardens as they should.
This Round Up lawsuit reminds us that some of the inventions and concoctions that humans have created are simply band-aid solutions that ultimately cause more harm than good. Pray Plants sticks with more traditional gardening methods that typically work much better and certainly prove much safer than what large companies produce to profit off of your gardening plights. As a Geographer, I have extensively studied the regional and global impacts of both large-scale and small-scale agricultural practices, and aim to only utilize eco-friendly methods and tools in my business. Don't hesitate to ask about how we act on this virtue, and what you can do to improve your homestead's sustainability!
Here at Pray Plants Headquarters, our tomato forest has yielded us a wonderful and ongoing harvest of plump rainbow fruits, which we have enjoyed in Baingan Bharta and BLT sandwiches. Delicious! We were able to maintain and add to our seed bank, with more medicinal species from the Blue Ridge Center for Chinese Medicine and native species from the Wood County Parks Stewardship Department. Between these and the heirloom herb, flower, and vegetable seeds we source from Baker Creek, we look forward to what next year's plant selection has to offer you and your family!
Happy Gardening!
